grit + tonic Studio Policies

Effective date October 1, 2026

Agreement to Studio Policies

By purchasing or participating in any class, private session, membership, package, or service offered by grit + tonic, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the Studio Policies. These policies apply to all purchases made through Momence, our website, or in the studio and are incorporated into any applicable Membership Agreement. Policies may be updated from time to time, and the most current version will be available on our website.

Reservations

Reservations are required for all classes and private sessions. Reservations can be made up to 14 days in advance and close 30 minutes before class begins. You can reserve your spot through the Momence App or the grit + tonic website.

Classes

We recommend completing a minimum of three Level 1 classes (tonic foundations, tonic) before registering for tonic+ or tonic power. Participation in advanced classes is ultimately at the client's discretion; however, instructors reserve the right to recommend a more appropriate class level based on safety and readiness.

grit + tonic reserves the right to substitute or change instructors for any class at any time without prior notice.

Waitlist

A class credit is required to join the waitlist. If your spot is never confirmed, the credit will be returned to your grit + tonic account.

When a spot opens, the first person on the waitlist will be notified by text, or by email if no phone number is on file. You have four hours to confirm your spot. If you do not respond, the next person will be notified.

If a spot becomes available after the waitlist closes, a text will be sent to all waitlisted clients at the same time. The first person to confirm gets the spot.

It is the client's responsibility to monitor text messages, email, and Momence notifications after joining the waitlist. Once a waitlist spot has been accepted or confirmed, the standard cancellation and no-show policies apply. You may remove yourself from the waitlist at any time before receiving a confirmation without penalty.

Cancellations

All classes must be canceled at least 18 hours before the class start time to avoid a late cancellation. Private sessions require at least 24 hours' notice.

Cancellations made inside these windows are considered late cancellations and will result in the loss of the applicable class credit or session. Cancellations made before the cutoff will have the credit returned to the client's account. No-shows will be charged a $20 fee in addition to the lost credit. After a client's first no-show, this fee will be applied automatically.

Clients are responsible for canceling their own reservations through Momence before the applicable cancellation deadline. Failure to receive a confirmation, reminder email, or text notification does not waive the late-cancel or no-show policy.

If you cannot attend, please cancel rather than no-show so a waitlisted client has an opportunity to take your spot. If an urgent situation prevents you from attending, please contact the studio directly.

Late Arrival

If you are running late, please text the studio so we can hold your reformer. Without notice, your spot may be released to a waitlisted client.

Class entry closes five minutes after the scheduled start time. To protect the flow and safety of class, late arrivals will not be permitted to join once class entry has closed. If you have not arrived or contacted the studio by then, your spot will be released and the standard late-cancel policy will apply.

Grip Socks

Grip socks are required for all classes. If you arrive without them, they are available for purchase at the studio.

Membership Payments

Membership dues are automatically charged to the payment method on file on each billing date. Members are responsible for maintaining a valid payment method and keeping their billing information current.

Declined or failed payments may result in suspension of booking privileges until the account is brought current. Membership charges continue until the membership has been properly canceled in accordance with the Membership Cancellation policy.

Membership pricing is subject to change. Existing members will receive advance notice of any change affecting their membership dues.

Membership Cancellation

Memberships automatically renew each month until canceled. To cancel a membership, the member must submit the Membership Cancellation Form on the grit + tonic website. A 30-day written notice is required to cancel all memberships. Any membership payment that becomes due during the 30-day notice period will still be charged, and the membership will remain active until the notice period has ended.

Cancellation requests become effective on the date they are received and cannot be backdated or applied retroactively.

Membership Freeze

Members may freeze their membership for up to 60 total days per calendar year, with a maximum of two freeze requests annually.

Each freeze must be at least seven consecutive days and no more than 30 consecutive days. Freeze requests must be submitted using the Membership Freeze Request Form on the website at least 14 days before the requested freeze start date. Freeze requests cannot be applied retroactively.

Requests to modify an approved freeze must be submitted using the Membership Freeze Request Form at least 14 days before the requested change takes effect. Modifications are subject to approval.

The membership will automatically resume at the end of the approved freeze period. The member's billing and renewal date will be extended by the length of the freeze.

Membership freezes are available only for active memberships. Credit packs, class packs, and single-class purchases are not eligible for freezes or extensions.

Refunds

All sales are final. Class packs, memberships, private sessions, workshops, retail purchases except as stated in the Retail Purchases policy, and other studio purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable unless otherwise required by law. Failure to attend classes, schedule sessions, or use purchased services does not qualify for a refund.

In the case of a documented medical change or military relocation, grit + tonic may offer a credit transfer or extension at its discretion. These exceptions do not qualify for cash refunds and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Supporting documentation may be required.

Credit Expiration

Class credits expire according to the terms of the applicable pack or membership. Expiration dates are visible in the client's Momence account. Expired credits are forfeited and cannot be reinstated, refunded, transferred, or extended.

Gift Cards

Gift cards may be used toward any class, pack, membership, or retail purchase. In accordance with California law, grit + tonic gift cards have no expiration date and remain valid until the balance is fully redeemed. No fees will be applied to a gift card balance.

If the remaining gift card balance is less than $15, the holder may request cash redemption at the studio. Gift cards are non-refundable after purchase. grit + tonic is not responsible for lost or stolen gift cards. Gift cards cannot be combined with other promotional offers or exchanged for cash above the $15 threshold outlined by California law.

Medical Clearance and Assumption of Responsibility

Please inform your instructor of any injuries, medical conditions, or physical limitations before class begins. This allows us to offer modifications and support a safe experience.

Participation in classes is voluntary, and each client assumes responsibility for determining whether they are medically able to participate. By participating in class, you confirm that you are physically able to do so. If your health status changes, please update us before your next visit. When in doubt, consult your healthcare provider before beginning or continuing an exercise program.

Photo and Video

We occasionally photograph and film classes for use on our website, social media and/or training purposes. If you prefer not to be included, please let us know before class and we will make sure you are not in the shot.

Please be mindful of other clients when taking photos or videos in the studio. Always ask permission before capturing anyone other than yourself.

Retail Purchases

Retail merchandise may be exchanged within 7 days of purchase if unused, unopened (when applicable) and accompanied by the original receipt. Opened socks, personal items, and sale merchandise are final sale. Defective merchandise may be exchanged at the studio's discretion.

Studio Operations

grit + tonic reserves the right to modify class schedules, instructors, operating hours, pricing, memberships, and Studio Policies at any time. When practical, advance notice will be provided.

Unforeseen Circumstances

grit + tonic shall not be responsible for interruptions or temporary suspension of services caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, power outages, public health orders, equipment failure, or other unforeseen events.
